Обращаем внимание, что сейчас программа существует только для 64-bit operating systems.
После загрузки запускаем исполняемый файл:
На запрос Контроля учетных записей отвечаем Да:
Нажимаем кнопку Next:
Выбираем чекбокс I accept the terms in the License Agreement и нажимаем кнопку Next:

You cannot configure the enhanced virtual keyboard setting for a shared or remote virtual machine.

Двойным щелчком запускаем программу. При первом старте появляется окно Welcome to VMware Workstation 12 Player:
Выбираем параметр Use VMware Workstation 12 Player for free for non-commercial use. И вводим действительный электронный адрес. После этого подсвечивается кнопка Continue. Нажимаем ее:
Нажимаем Finish:
VMware Workstation 12 Player запущен. Теперь выбираем один из вариантов: Создать Новую Виртуальную Машину или Открыть Виртуальную Машину (существующую) и пользуемся всеми преимуществами виртуализации. :-)
